I am 25 years old. I am a Christian, a registered nurse, and a single mom. I have struggled with depression since I was 12, self-injury since I was 15, and an eating disorder since I was 17. I have a strong passion for helping others. I feel very fortunate for all of the positive things in my life, but despite all of that, I still struggle with my mental issues on a regular basis. My desire is to provide hope for others and a place where you can come and read and feel like you are not alone in what you are going through. Depression doesn’t discriminate. Also, being a Christian does not make you exempt. As a nurse, I know that depression is a physical illness, and not something that can simply be wished away, or prayed away. God promised to be with us always, He did not promise that it would be easy. Please feel free to comment and share, I would love to hear from others who have similar stories and experiences.
